So, H has been with us for a full month now, and she is without a doubt one of the sweetest kids I have ever had. Not to say she doesn’t have her challenges, because any 14 year old with the intellect/emotional maturity of a 10 year old does, but she is just so darn genial. She is go-with-the-flow, laidback, and very affectionate. Overall, she’s just a timid, innocent, loving little kid.
We hope to adopt her, and it’s looking more and more like that will happen!
And of course since nothing can ever be easy with fostering, we have also taken (re)placement of ML! Things were not going well for her and she has been getting into a lot of trouble, so she’s back with us until her next court date at the end of next month. She’s another kid that has challenges, but you just can’t help liking. One day she comes at me with a knife and refuses to bathe, but then another day she is declaring that “Pink Floyd music is good for her blood sugar” and sorting fruit loops. She’s so off the wall and quirky, and it’s impossible to keep from laughing in a conversation with her.
It’s quite lucky for us that, so far, H and ML seem to be getting along well. They seem to have decided to be friends and they share some interests. I’m just glad that I won’t have to break up fights for a little while!
